How to use this calculator

  1. Weigh the water and salt rather than mixing volume and weight units.
  2. Read the percentage as grams of salt per 100 g of water.
  3. The final solution percentage is also shown because it differs from the water-basis percentage.

Worked example

At 2% of 1,000 g water, add 20 g salt. The resulting 1,020 g solution contains about 1.961% salt by total mass.
